A long time ago, a neighbour of ours who was a pipe fitter by trade used some bits of pipe to build the Mailbox of Doom. All industrial grade steel pipe, welded and set into another pipe so if it got hit by a vehicle it spun around. Of course it would spin all the way around and slam into the vehicle that stuck it. A friend of my sister got a new truck and was playing mailbox bingo or some such thing. He returned to school one Monday morning with a large dent in his truck and assured her she was correct about the solidity of her mailbox. Well earlier this summer we got Word from the municipality.
